The Brave and the Blind!

You want the cover explained?
Escher-man, the most evil artistic super-villain, who you've never heard of was there using his impossible architecture powers to trap Spider-man and shove a spike into Daredevil's crotch (Escher-man is also to blame for impossible transitions such as a hero diving head-first towards a villain in one panel and kicking a henchman in the next). Beware Escher-man (though a good editor and artist can easily defeat him)!

You know, I do remember an Amazing Spider-Man issue just a few years back that actually showed a well-humored Daredevil helping Spider-man fight an army of holograms. It was entertaining and fun (Daredevil also didn't use any BS Tactile radar-thingamajig and just used his sense of smell to find a CEO who had bad pepperoni breath). Too bad Daredevil comics aren't as funny.

The narration is rubbish... at first when you started reading it I tried to make some sense out of it but then it went al blah blah blah XD seems to me that some emoteen wrote this and even emos can make some sense when reading XD

I said the same thing about Daredevil being the most emo superhero in a video I did.

The sad part is, Daredevil is the best character SPider-man has ever been cross overed with, but issues like this make me forget why

Wow, unbelievable. The first thing I thought of when I heard that stupid narration was the unrelenting narrator of Thunderstrike. That guy was also melodramatic, and it JUST! WOULDN'T! END!

Another great video; my favorite joke was when the narrator starts narrating what you're doing.

Incidentally, while this has nothing to do with the video whatsoever, did you see the newest episode of The Big Bang Theory? It had some great comic book jokes, like two characters actually arguing about who should be the successor to Batman if his death stayed permanent.

This was funny! I like Daredevil but this narration thing, and this dumb villian, seemed very out of place with him. I guess it's to be expected since this was after that "Fall of the Kingpin" thing, the Kingpin is a hard act to follow.

Awesome review! If you were a baseball team, you'd have enough homeruns to change all the other teams logos into white surrender flags!

So until Comic Rejects Tour featuring Sci-Spy, Sinnamon, Neutro, US-1, The Newmen, The Sultry Teenage Super-foxes, Nightcat, Bat-baby, Ben Boxer and the Bio-mech 7's, Doom's IV, and of course Snow-flame, comes to my town, MAKE MINE LINKARA!

one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. these two need a cop show for sure! what was up with that narration anyways? it was so just noir it was laughable! great review mr. linkara!

Wow... random Terror Inc. cameo at the start of the book. Just a reminder that this book was published in 1992.

You know it's bad enough that the writer of this this book was so blatantly trying to ape Frank Miller's shtick, but "Surgeon General" was name of one of the key villains in Miller's mini-series "Give Me Liberty" which was published a mere 2 years before this book.

Ugh, jeez. Even with the humor factor this ultra-melodramatic narration is really hard to deal with.

Narration gag at the end was great.

"Shut Your Noise Hole!" classic

Erm, I have a question...When did Alan Moore have a stroke and forget everything he ever wrote, then get hired to write a Daredevil comic??
And be honest, you were just reading Rorschach dialogue with all the ties to "Watchmen" cut out, weren't you?

lol Looks like Spidey is trying to pull off the matches malone routine. This kinda makes my sad because this isn't even an event comic. This is just a random weekly/monthly story and its awful.I was never into DareDevil that much, but even I know that inner monaloge was way to dark even for him.

Also.... You really, really, really don't like One More Day do you? You know I heard orginaly the writers were gonna use the outcome of that story as a means bring back Gwen Stacy. So at least that catastrophy was avoided. I guess there is a bit of good in every horrible situation.

@srgeman: You're exactly right, Spider-Man and Daredevil are the perfect pair, when written right.

Great as always, Linkara. I'm surprised you didn't say anything more about that impractical as hell scalpel bandoleer, though. The way the artist drew those knives, they should have been stabbing her in the chest and right arm every time she moved.

Somehow I remember her appearing in another comic. Did she fight Spidy in ASM at some point or something? Did DD cross over into ASM at one point to fight her? I could probably dig out the issue that I'm remembering, but I really don't think it's worth the effort.

I'm sorry, all I remember from this comic was some surgeon chick with red dialogue bubbles and a sash filled with scalpels, a nightclub, Spider-Man, and a narrator that wouldn't shut up.

This comic sucks. Speaking of Daredevil, I don't remember the movie being all that bad.

Wait a minute. You make a small list of emo-superheroes at the beginning and NOT mention the Silver Surfer the whiniest of 'em all?

Ah hell who cares?

Philosophista said...

If you're gonna see the heroes that are whinning about their destiny and stuff, you'll get the most of the marvel Caracthers, specially the Lee created ones. Like the Hulk always complaining to be a monster (well, it's Banner in fact, but some times the Hulk says something to have to cohabit the body with Banner), The Spidey always down with the "oh, my mistake killed uncle Ben, and Gwen, and maybe even Jesus"... Silver Surfer (or, Silver Suffer, if you can accept this lame pun), it's the same of all...

But these guys have their own issues and problems to argue about... DD is more a damn catholic disguising himself as a demon and using his powers as a heal for the curse of being who he is...

But yeah, this issue is really lame... Hahahahaha

Oh, just something, did you saw the Spirit movie? It sucked so, so, so much... That also makes Watchmen being one of the movies of the year, and a great adaptation... (Yeah, now figure how bad a movie should be to make this comparison)...

Just waiting for Daredevil #306 review!!!

The narration has prose so purple it's practically ultra-violet.

If you notice, when she knocks out DD, the Surgeon seems be aware of the constant narration.

Just an FYI: as of May 20, the video is immediately blocked by that skin-peeling Starburst ad, and this problem persists after each attempt to play the video. Might want to do a little maintenance. Me? I'm going to crucify whoever made those commercials now and hope that Nightcrawler doesn't dramatically misquote the Bible after I do it.

Give it another try now, Anonymous. After a re-upload it seems to be functioning.

It works now. Thanks, chief.

I'm sorry Linkara, I think your reviews are ALL awesome, but with this one, I feel like maybe you didn't quite understand Daredevil all too well. In the Majority of the DD comics I read, Matt usually has a dark noir way of narrating. And just because someone starts to do this style narrating that DOESNT mean it suddenly is Rorschach. Believe it or not, there were noir style narrating films before Watchmen. So its not like he's the only one who's allowed to do it. And the cover where she has the breathing machine (or what have you) well yeah that was dumb, BUT it kinda reminded me of the film "Blue Velvet" that character Frank has bad asthma and needs to use that inhaler machine thing everytime he goes mad and what not. Sorry if I sound out of my element I know your an amazing reviewer I just feel like some of this is unjustified towards DD. But please don't think I am no longer interested in your videos, I am and will always be a huge fan Mr. Linkara =)

I really hope you don't think I'm some kinda of jerk or anything, Maybe I just have too much love for DD :P

I just wanted to be fair and point out a few things... (even if it turns out, I'm out of my element) I just honestly felt this wasn't 100% worthy of ATFW, but it definitely had some bad moments... that's for sure..

Ingenious, the narrator jokes are killing me :D

I know this is kind of a throw-back, so I'll keep this brief:

"Only two issues after One More Day."

This is somewhat impossible. Daredevil #305 was published in 1992, and One More Day was published in 2007. Unless you meant something else, and I completely missed it. :(

Erm, I'm not referring to Daredevil #305 with that statement. I'm referring to the Spider-Man comics that were made right after One More Day.
